Darién Martínez Pimentel was born on (9/2/1979) with a degree in physical culture and a specialist in sports and recreational sailing. As an athlete, he won a silver medal in the Central American and Caribbean Games (Cartagena 2006), 7th place in the Pan American Games (Rio 2007), national champion in the Cadet classes (1994), Laser II (1996 and 1997), 470 (2002 ) ) and Snipe (2008). As a coach in the Snipe class, he won Silver and Bronze medals at the Central American and Caribbean Games (Veracruz 2014 and Barranquilla 2018), 7th and 4th at the Pan American Games (Toronto 2015 and Lima 2019), won the Zimmerman and Dudley Gamblin Memorial trophy ( winter circuit Snipe 2017), Bronze Medal in the Pre-Pan Americans (Lima 2018), 8th Place in the Western Hemisphere Championship (Buenos Aires 2018), national champion from 2009 until the activity.
